Has anyone wired the radiators fans to come on via a switch?
What is the best approach?
Is it worth it to wire the fans to cool down the motor while in the staging lanes?

It's pretty simple guys. All you need to do is pick which fan you want to switch on. On that fan find the motor. On that motor there should be a 2 pin plug. In that plug there's a ground wire and a switched 12V wire (switches on automatically by the car). You can tap into the 12V wire with another wire ran to a switch that will give it 12V when the switch is on. Be sure to use a switch that is rated to handle the current required by the fan. Be careful when you do this due to higher DC currents required to spin that fan (remember, it's not a light bulb). Use the same guage wire (or larger) as Honda does and be sure your power source is large enough to supply the current you need. Also, you must fuse your circuit as close as possible to the power source. I've never done this, but it should be pretty basic. Good luck. Tom

What happens when you already have the fan on, and then the car gives the fan power by itself. Then do you have 24v?

No, it'll still be 12V 'cause you're wiring 2 12V leads in parallel from the same source. Tom
